Washington Campus Coalition for the Public Good (formerly Washington Campus Compact) is a community of higher education institutions committed to advancing the public purpose of colleges and universities, educating students for the workforce and civic leadership, and working in partnership to cultivate vital and sustainable communities.
Civic Leadership & Engagement Corps (CLEC) is our AmeriCorps program that believes all students should be empowered with the skills and resources to thrive in school and beyond to become the compassionate leaders and engaged citizens of tomorrow.
CLEC fosters student leadership, campus-community partnerships, civic and community engagement, and knowledge networks focused on improving the retention and success of underrepresented students, increasing awareness and support for equity and inclusion, and building sustainable campus/community partnerships and resilient communities.?
CLEC mobilizes AmeriCorps members and student volunteers to provide direct service support in Washington and Idaho that will further college and career readiness for underrepresented students, improve community health and food security, and increase environmental stewardship.
Our focus areas include:
• Academic Engagement – K-12 & College/University Student Success
• Healthy Futures – Access to Mental/Medical Health Services & Food Security & Basic Needs
• Environmental Stewardship – At-Risk Ecosystems & Environmental Education
CLEC projects target low-income, underrepresented, and/or marginalized students, their families, and community members. Environmental stewardship programs target public or tribal lands.
